About the Taster Class

If you would like to dance West Coast Swing, but aren’t sure about it, or want to dip your toes in the dancing waters first, this is your moment!

During this open season, we offer taster classes in which you can experience a “taste” of West Coast Swing and what our courses and classes/workshops have to offer.

You can join alone, or with a friend so there is no worry to attend with a dance partner if you don’t have one!

About WCSE’s Dance Season

Our dance season lasts 6 weeks and totals a minimum of 7.5 hours of lessons.

The next season begins 12 November. Read more information about the beginners course here: Beginners Course

About West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing is a playful partner dance which allows the dancers to enjoy a conversation through movement.

In this partner dance, we have a clear lead and follow, but we don’t keep to the “normal rules” of these roles! Instead, we create our own flow in either role and one can take initiative or create movement for your partner to mirror or amplify.

This dance is the very definition of versatility through movement. West Coast swing allows one to dance to many types of music as well as allows the dancer to combine other types of movement or dances into their West Coast Swing!
